FCC is Putting an End to Sewage Overflow at King Jimmy Bridge

On Friday April 24, 2020, FCC started work to fix the sewage system at the King Jimmy Bridge, between Connaught Hospital and the King Jimmy Market.
Over the last 5 years, residents who live and work around the King Jimmy environs, and those that regularly travel through that route, have been regularly inconvenienced by the overflow of sewage. The overflow was caused by the destruction of sewage lines after the bridge fell.
The work that FCC is undertaking over the next two weeks involves constructing new sewage lines to put a permanent end to the problem.
We kindly ask residents that work, live or commute through the King Jimmy axis to expect road blocks throughout the construction of new sewage lines and we apologize for any inconveniences caused.
FCC continues to work relentlessly to #TransformFreetown, even as we confront the outbreak of #COVID19 in Freetown.
