FCC Makes Supplementary Food Support to 142 People in Quarantine

Today, FCC provided supplementary food support to eight quarantine homes, with support from GOAL and CARE. A total of 142 people, who live in those homes, benefitted from the support.
This support is meant to supplement the provision by central government so that affected residents have enough to eat until the end of their quarantine period. The support is also meant to reassure residents in communities with that being in quarantine does not result in neglect and hunger. This, in turn, is meant to increase willingness amongst residents, who present with COVID-19 symptoms, to be put into quarantine.
The different homes, which were in Thompson Bay, Portee, Soldier Street, Calaba Town, Kissy, Mountain Cut, and Ascension Town received essential food items which include water, palm oil, rice and beans.
The distribution was done with the help of Councillors, including the Deputy Mayor of Freetown, Osman T Koroma, who have been constantly supporting people in quarantine in their wards.
