Enumerators and Technicians are needed for an upcoming project for the Freetown City Council (FCC) on conducting property value assessments across Freetown. This project has the support of Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and falls under her Transform Freetown initiative. .

This is an open call for applications for two roles: Enumerator and Technician. The job responsibilities and desired qualities are listed below. Compensation will be competitive, and successful candidates will receive training before the work begins. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

For the Enumerator position

Job criteria and responsibilities:

• Conducting surveys of properties across Freetown

• Being punctual, and showing up at your work site on Monday – Saturday, from 8 am – 5 pm daily

• Talking with property tenants or owners, being observant about surroundings, being an independent and critical thinker

An ideal candidate will have these qualities:

• Fluent in Krio and English (reading and speaking)

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, IT, statistics, economics, or other relevant discipline

• High attention to detail, able to follow detailed instructions

• Healthy (job requires fieldwork, outdoors and walking for 8 hours a day)

• Good eyesight, high literacy

• Good interpersonal skills, able to talk with people in a courteous way

• Previous enumeration experience

• Hard working

• Technical — able to work with a smartphone (Android) and to troubleshoot technical issues that may arise

For the Technician position

Job criteria and responsibilities:

• Measure properties by outlining satellite images on a laptop computer. You will need to be comfortable sitting down for long periods of time and be able to do repetitive work.

• Being punctual, and showing up at your work site on Monday – Saturday, from 8 am – 5 pm daily

An ideal candidate will have these qualities:

• Fluent in Krio and English (reading and speaking)

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or other relevant discipline

• Hard worker

• High attention to detail, able to follow instructions

• Highly literate with computers — Google Chrome

• Excellent map-reading skills, able to understand satellite images
