🚨 Urgent: Open Letter in Response to Announced Plans to Divide Freetown into Two Cities 📄 #SAVE FREETOWN

Investing in Our Children’s Future: A Visit to Freetown Primary Schools

Today members of the Freetown City Council (FCC) School Leaders Support team had the opportunity to brief me on some of the remarkable strides we are making in improving educational outcomes for children across Freetown.

They visited Pamaronkoh Primary, Tower Hill Municipal Infant School, Cathedral Girls and Amaraia Municipal School, four of our city’s learning centers where innovation and collaboration are shaping the future of education. Mayor Aki-Sawyerr was deeply inspired by what we are enabling; young learners fully engaged in a tablet-based learning program, confidently using digital tools to enhance their literacy and numeracy skills.

This initiative, made possible through our partnership with Rising Academies Network, EducAid, and Imagine Worldwide, is part of our broader commitment to support central government efforts in transforming education from the ground up. Through programs like Faster Math and other accelerated learning tools, we are ensuring that our children have better access to education that meets them where they are and helps them reach their full potential.

“As Mayor, I remain committed to supporting our teachers, empowering our school leaders, and creating safe, inclusive, and tech-forward learning environments for every child in Freetown.”
