First 100 Days
The Mayor’s first 100 days in office elapsed on 18th August 2018. In these three months, Freetown City Council made great strides in advancing the Transform Freetown agenda and addressing some of the serious challenges that face our city: learn more about the challenges here.
The process of carrying out the detailed needs assessment and community consultations which formed the basis of the Transform Freetown planning was well under way: see more here.
Invitations were sent out to the stakeholders who formed the Sector Working Groups with FCC officers and councillors. These stakeholders went on to set the targets and initiatives for the Transform Freetown plan: see more here.
But the first 100 days were not just about planning. Freetown City Council also made real progress in key sectors, meaning real change for the better in the lives of Freetonians. Here we celebrate that change.

Without money, Freetown City Council cannot provide services to the people of Freetown. Freetown’s own-source revenue is very low.

Urban Planning achievements in the first 100 days
Urban planning is both a short term and a long term project. The design of a comprehensive urban development plan cannot be achieved within 3 months: see here for the Council’s targets and initiatives in this sector.
However, significant short term work was done to beautify the CBD and reduce traffic congestion
