Freetown City Council (FCC) notes public concern about the current issues at the Kissy Bomeh Dumpsite resulting from equipment challenges. FCC’s front end loader was involved in a serious accident and has consequently been non-functional. Rental options for other front end loaders were not readily available leading to a build-up of waste at the dumpsite.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to Freetonians and reassure the public that we are working to urgently resolve this unfortunate situation. This incident does not reflect our commitment to maintaining a clean city. As part of that commitment, we continue to employ women and youth in the daily sweeping efforts of 180 major street in Freetown and today is no exception.
