What is COVID-19?
- Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases
- The virus that causes COVID-19 emerged from an animal source, but is now spreading from person to person
How is it spread?
- The virus is spread mainly through droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes or talks close to your face
- The virus also spreads by touching a surface object that has the virus on it and then touching your own mouth, nose or eyes. They stays on surfaces or objects for a long time
