On Thursday, 19 February 2026, Her Worship Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, OBE, received Madam Aïcha Touré, the new Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, who took office in January this year.

Freetown City Council and Orange have a long-standing history of collaboration across several key areas. This includes the 2024 provision of digital school kits to Kroo Bay Municipal School to help bridge the digital divide in underserved communities. Orange has also consistently supported FCC during disaster response efforts and through various sanitation interventions. During their meeting, the Mayor and Madam Touré discussed ways to strengthen these existing ties and explore new avenues for deeper collaboration.
