FREETONIANS PLANT TREES ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Pelumi, an 8 a year-old who picked up a seedling from our tree giveaway at Aberdeen on World Environment Day, was excited to take what he has been learning about plants and the environment outside the classroom!
He joins FCC and many other Freetonians on our journey to plant 1 million trees as part of the #FreetownTheTreeTown Campaign.
This year’s theme for World Environment Day was “It’s Time for Nature” and it is the city’s hope that the seedlings, when planted and grown, will serve as a way for us as a city to reconnect with nature. We want to work with our residents and partners to make Freetown healthy and clean!
Thanks to all that have supported the #FreetownTheTreeTown Campaign including GiZ, YARDO-SL, World Bank, FEDURP-CODOSAPA, CRS, Mercury International and many more.
