FREETOWN CITY COUNCIL EMBARKS ON MAINTENANCE OF ROADSIDE VEGETATION

The Freetown City Council has embarked on a thorough maintenance exercise of vegetation in the central reservations and road verges within the Municipality. The exercise is set to clear and beautify the central reservations, road verges, footpaths and roundabouts across the city. It will target major streets including Spur Road, Signal Hill Road, King Street, Jomo Kenyatta Road and Hill Station.

The exercise involves cutting grass, clearing footpaths and trimming the trees in these areas. The 20-man FCC team will subsequently plant trees and carpet grass in exposed areas.

Although legislative responsibility for maintaining the roadside vegetation rests with the Sierra Leone Roads Authority, FCC is supporting this activity as we work with all to #TransformFreetown
