Yesterday 14th May, FCC, with support from the Zonta Club of Freetown, donated a 5000-litre water tank to the Salad Gron Market as part of the Council’s behavioral change support in its Preparedness and Response Plan.

Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr officially handed over the Tank to the market leadership in the presence of the representatives of the Zonta Club of Freetown, the Ward Development Committee members representing Councillor Madinatu Kamara of Ward and traders.

Mrs Eileen Hanciles, immediate past president of the Zonta Club of Freetown, asked the market leadership to ensure that all traders had access to the tank. In her response, the Chairlady, Ms Salamatu Sesay, thanked FCC and Zonta Club of Freetown and asked her fellow traders to take handwashing seriously not prevent the spread of COVID19.

FCC will support the market with water delivery over the next few weeks.
