Freetown City Council Holds Team Building And Visioning Day With FCC Management Staff

The Freetown City Council (FCC) has, today 18th May, 2018, held a team building and visioning day with FCC Management Staff, at the Civil Service Training College, State Avenue, to inspire them on a shared vision of transforming the city.

The exercise was geared to capture participants’ thoughts on what a positively transformed Freetown would look like versus what a further deteriorated city would look like. The process was to further get FCC Management Staff to work together effectively as a team especially in driving the Mayors vision for the city in- “Fɔ wi Kɔmyuniti, Fɔ wi Progrɛs and Fɔ wi Fritɔng

Speaking at the function, Her Worship, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, noted that the exercise is to further prepare the mind set and physical participation of Staff to drive her agenda of transforming the city with the wider participation of residents of Freetown.

Madam Aki-Sawyerr said that they were collectively going to ensure that there would be different levels of improvements in every single sector. She said, “Our collective view is that the Freetown we’re sitting in today is not the Freetown we’ll be sitting in four years’ time”.

Later on in the exercise, Joe Abass Bangura, CEO of Life by Design, delivered a motivational talk on the topic, “The Road to the Top”

He admonished the Staff to take full responsibility within the work environment of the city council and to be efficient in executing their responsibilities with competence and diligence.
